Easter at the wienee ranch

Hi,
Boy the month of April is flying by!! We have had a return of cold temps and rainy days that have sent a chill to my bones and they do not like it!! Thank you Lord for a beautiful and sunny Easter Sunday! It was so beautiful and a we spent the day at home. Our beautiful daughter Dana, and our grand fur babies had a great day sitting on the porch and just being together. The Easter Bunny did deliver a few goodies to the fur babies! This first picture are the goodies the babies got from the secret paw pals. We belong to a group on facebook for dachshunds and their owners. You know I am not the only human that spoils their wienees LOL Mine are not nearly as spoiled as some of those lucky pooches I see on facebook but mine are loved and are spoiled as much as we can spoil them. Sarge knows what B Y E and G O I N G spell and if you spell it he starts barking and running to the front door ready to go BYE and Going somewhere in the car or truck LOL

I joined Amy of Bumble Bee Lane Spring swap and I got a lovey box of goodies from Cindy! I adore and love each and every goodie she sent me! Thank you so much for hosting Amy and thank you Cindy for the great goodies!

I thought I would share how I decorated the living room for Easter and spring. Those decorations will come down today and the Americana d├ęcor will go up! I love Americana and anything that is red, white, and blue. I thank God daily for the men and women who serve in our Armed Forces and for their families! God Bless our Troops and please pray for them daily!

Many of the items I decorate my home with for the holidays and seasons were gifts from blogging friends! I love to see them each year when I decorate my home and remember who I received the items from. Blogging has brought so much joy to my life since I became disabled in 2010 from the 5 failed back surgeries. It has kept me socially active if only on the internet and now that I am pain medicine free but not pain free, I am getting out and doing more and more each day and week! I may walk with a limp but I get there LOL Thank you all for being there for me.
Have a blessed week!
Hugs,
Lynn

Happy 50th Birthday to my husband!

Our sweet daughter got up bright and early this morning to make the day a little more special for her Daddy! She decorated his truck for his birthday!

She really surprised him! Shh, he did shed a few tears at the sweetness! This was done before 6;30 am this morning!! He took the balloons off the back but texted me when he got to work to say he put them back on! She has had him wrapped around the pinky finger since April 13, 1986 at 12;34pm when she was born!! She will always be Daddy's little girl!
Thank you so much Dana for starting his special birthday off with a great surprise! We are taking him out for a nice steak dinner tonight!
Hugs,
Lynn

St. Patrick's Day Swap

I received the nicest box of the St. Patty's Goodies from Sally Annie Magundy! I joined Vivian's swap from the blog Viv on A Whim!

After a hard time with an unexpected family emergency and life changing events it was nice to get a surprise in the mail!

Sally made me the sweetest little dachshund theme St. Patrick's Day pillow and heart to match! She sent a box full of luck of the Irish!! I am a natural orange-some say red head so everyone says I must have Irish blood in me somewhere!!! My eyelashes are even orange LOL I borrowed the pictures from Sally's blog so enjoy all the wonderful goodies she sent me!

Please keep our family in your prayers. Thank you so much!
Hugs,
Lynn

A little late but Valentine's Day at the Wienee Ranch

Wow, what a difference a week makes!! This time last Thursday we had 9-12 inches of snow depending on where you were at in Catawba County, North Carolina. Here at the Wienee Ranch we had 10 inches on the back deck where we measured. The fur-babies would not even venture out the front door! LOL Usually, when one of us open the front door, Sarge is always the first out, not that day!! He would stop at the front door and just look at us as we were standing on our covered front porch, we would say," Come on Sarge, lets go play!" Not a movement LOL! Smart doggies!!

Well, I joined Sandy at 521 Lake Street Valentine's Day swap! Sandy was my partner!! Wow, did she spoil me!! I got a huge box of the cutest Valentine goodies and red, white, and pink items to craft with! She even sent me packages of ric rac to use!! So excited! She made me the cutest banner with felt heart cut outs and vintage Valentines and these huge hearts that look like conversation hearts candy!!! I was so spoiled! Thank you again Sandy!!

We had a great Valentine's Day at the Wienee Ranch!! When hubby got home from work he found his Valentine from me. I wrote him 101 things that I love about him. It took me several days to come up with the list! Some were funny, some were romantic, and some were serious! He was crying by the time he got to the 2nd page. It took 6 pages to write it all down. I decided to hand write it instead of typing it on the computer. He said it was one of the most thoughtful gifts he had ever received and he couldn't believe all the time I put into it!! We have been married for over 32 years and together for almost 35! So, we don't do gifts anymore. We love each other and if we want something and have the money for it, we get it. We quit using credit cards a long time ago and we save and pay cash for big purchases. I do not want to owe more than we have to in these days and time! Yes, it would be easy to buy stuff on credit but I rather wait until we have the cash for it! I know I am not normal or well society tells me I am not!! I am a conservative lady! I think I should have been born way earlier than 1965!! My heart and soul love the old ways of life! Hubby did get me a small gift, a dachshund sterling silver necklace! Yes, I prefer silver to gold! Told you I am not normal LOL
Hope you all have a blessed week! Enjoy the pictures of my swap goodies and Valentine Decorations around the Wienee Ranch!

Wonderful goodies from Sandy !
Beautiful garland and my collection of vintage them dachshund valentines

So many of my valentine decorations are gifts that I received in valentine Day swaps over the past 4 years! I have been so blessed by the wonderful friends that I have met in blog land! People just don't understand how you can connect and have real friendships with someone you have never met in real life!
Thank you so much to all of my blog friends! I am sure if you look closely you will see a gift or two from you!
Hugs,
Lynn
